The rumors that we’ve been hearing since the beginning of the year are true…Amazon is coming to Spokane.

Amazon recently announced their plan to build a 600,000 square foot fulfillment center southwest of Spokane International Airport on the north side of Geiger Boulevard. This 80-acre site will bring over 1,500 jobs to Spokane (around 3,000 during the busy holiday season). This fulfillment center could quite possibly be the largest job creation project that Spokane has ever seen.

Bringing Amazon to Spokane should have a valuable impact when recruiting other companies to our city. Having a Fortune 20 company in Spokane sends a great message to other large companies considering coming to Spokane. Amazon will bring attention to the  West Plains and could possibly lead to more warehouse developments in the surrounding area.

Amazon operates over 100 fulfillment centers around the United States. Adding a fulfillment center to our area could help Spokane customers receive orders in an even more timely manner than before. The fulfillment center is expected to open late 2019.
